Serato, and Tracktor have it......Why not ableton????

it's such a simple yet very effective idea......some sort of one touch automatic looper (1/4, 1/2, 1, 4, 8, 16, 32 bar instant looping!)

come on ableton, help us out!

the whole mix is only done by mixing some loops on the fly in clips! whole mix is taking about 80 minutes.

well i mean when a track is play you just hit a 1 bar 4 bar 8 bar or 16 bar loop button and it automatically maps out the loop with out having to set the points before you play out.

are you not pulling over loop marks with the mouse to set the points then???

regardless of if it is prepared or not?

Definitely need this. Would be good if there was a proper tagging system and track organisation with album art thing too.

To summarise:
We could set how many bars a clip would have BEFORE we create them (either by double click on session view or recording in sesssion or arrangement view). This would be REALLY live recording, cause right now u need to ajust the loop lengh before or after recording.
But it would be better if we could set the lenght of the loop using a midi controller. (The pics explaing it better)

I just purchased the modular M4L add on and I have no idea how to use it to make each track act like the novation dicers.

Help?

PS: @ S4racen: when I download and open the .pdf modular manual from your website it says it is an empty .pdf...

It works for me? The manuals were never complete as each device works on a drag and drop basis...

Just going through the process of updating each device in turn, Looper will be the next we'll tackle after the new year, our aim is to improve each one and make them simpler to use, for Looper you need to drop one on each track you wish to loop, the midi mapping of the seperate loop lengths is done by mapping the darker blue bar at the top of each loop division, agreed it;s not clear so we'll make this better for the next release....

Just uploading the newest livepack for download, it includes the latest version of Slicer....

very cool! this looks like it does require max4live though. to bad i don't have max but if i do get it i'll be sure to look into this more!

Yes, this sort of functionality is only available through getting into Lives API.... Max4Live allows this although i think Touchable does something similar??
