I managed to upgrade my Presonus Firestation to mLAN2 the other day - and NO CRACKLES ANYMORE (not from UAD-1 - the tiny clitches that appears have to be latency-probs (PCI-adapters/ASIO/MIN_GNT at UAD-1, or something OTHER than mLAN2/UAD-1-cracles) - but THAT'S just FUN, compared to the alternative on mLAN1..

I run Ableton Live 4.x with 10 UA- plugs, so i HOPE/GUESS the new mLAN2 really cope with Powered plugs - it supports HT, for shure!

I made the mistake, and now have a non-working system that at least worked part time before.
