I was wondering if that VST works for Live 4. I saw a demo of that VST at a local dealer and was amazed. Before I buy it, I want to know if it will work with Live 4. He showed me the demo on a Cubase system. I'm hoping that someone can point me to a supported VST list. I've seen one list in the Beta testing forum.

Virtual Guitarist does indeed work under LIVE. Yet, keep in mind, there are over 10,000 files associated with the VG plugin. When you install it, the files are in a subdirectory under the VSTi. You may want to move the DATA directory elsewhere. When launching LIVE with the 10,000 files under your VST folder, it takes forever to scan each one of those files to see if it's a VST plugin.

Thank you very much for your reply. Are the 10,000 files associated with the plug-in, presets, etc.? I assume that VST will know where to look for those files once I move them? Or is there a preference within VG to point to the directory like Reason has?

I just ordered VG and it will be here tomorrow. This is a sickness, I'm sure.

The files are wave clips that assemble the patterns. And there are style files, preset files, etc.... If you visit the Wizoo forums (KVR) you'll find information on how to move the data directory.

Yes both Vg electric edition and VG original both work under Live with Mac os 10.3.4

My experience using Virtual Guitarist within Live 4 has been a bit frustrating. The unfortunate thing is that notes that fall on-the-beat do not trigger a chord change until the following beat.

E.g. sending a single note to Virtual Guitarist changes the current chord to a major chord. So if I put a G on the first beat of measure 2, I'd expect the entire measure 2 to play G. But the G chord actually won't start until a sixteenth note later (or so.) This means that whatever chord was playing previously plays during measure 2's first downbeat. Yuck!

It's especially annoying on the first beat of measure 1, since the only way to fix this is to copy everything at the beginning of measure 1 into the last 16th note beat of the final measure of the loop. Otherwise, it's a matter of recording your part, then highlighting all notes and moving them backwards about a 16th note or so.

I hope I explained this well enough.

I'm having similar problems with timing and triggering notes with VG Electric. Running Live 4.03 on Windows XP......................
