Some live 4 shortcomings?

I have been using Live 4 for a couple weeks now and could really use some insight for some workarounds for missing? features. First the global quantization lost its hot key. The naming of files by track name!?! I can't find a way to view recorded controller data I would like to edit in a clip Also realtime input quantize via a menu (no hotkey). And this last one was probably in the old versions too, but now I'm noticeing cause I used to bounce in Cubase. The rendered loops have clicks in the beginning!?! I think that it is an ingeneous routing scheme and also Simpler and Impulse are OUTSTANDING, But please help me to BURY CUBASE for composition!!!!!!!!!

Much Love fellow Livenauts!!

It's already been buried as far as I'm concerned. It was when Fruity went to 3.5 and Sonar went to 2.0. Bye Bye Confusabase

I had the same rendering issue with the betas. I am sure ABleton will fix it soon.

Hey illsub, try making a list out of your (very good) questions and maybe post them as separate threads to get better feedback...SKWEEEEEEE

my only gripe so far is that the program crashes after 15 minutes. version 1-3 never gave me this kind of grief. but those are some damn good 15 minutes none the less.

crashy crashy

I'd be happy to get 15 minutes! I've been averaging around 3 minutes. I'm suspicious of my Mbox core audio driver, but who knows!

unfotunately i'm running Windows now so i'm clueless on how to troubleshoot anything. i'm using a Delta 44 with latest Live, ASIO, etc. no other apps running besides Live and my soundcard. i get "Live has encountered a problem....must quit"

no idea.

Are you using the same VST's everytime? If you open live, walk away for 15 minutes, does it crash? Can you reproduce the crash everytime? What were the steps you did leading up to the crash? If its happening all the time, then just write down every step you do until it crashes and then send it in to ableton.

does that happen on newly created sets?
i've had some crashes, but i think it was because the sets were created with betas.
not so sure bout that though.

yeah it happens with new sets. removed all VSTs. only thing happening is audio in, which is by default anyway. pretty much exactly as said above, i walk away from it and come back and it's dead. recreating it is pretty much:

launch Live.
wait 15 minutes.
crashypoo.

Wow, that is weird, tjwett:

Two questions/observations:

You mentioned something about checking out share in another post, do you go often? I go every now and then, and really believe that I am the only one there that uses PC, besides geoff (linux).

Second,
Sounds strange with the PC, but I am no guru to help fix it, can just say that I haven't had 4 crash once since buying it and I have been opening beta sets, 3 sets, and new sets. Perhaps they aren't big enough because I haven't pushed past 50% CPU, but I do have a session with 6-7 tracks of audio and 2-3 sets of VSTis going, still no crash....must be something weird on the PC?

yeah lots of Macs at Share, i was one of them when i used to go. i have no idea what the deal is with my setup. i just did another test and i actually did NOTHING. just opened a new set with all the factory default settings. i just let it sit there and about 15 later it went belly up. i'll probably just go for the old "reinstall the OS and cross my fingers" routine.
