It doesn't seem that cakewalks Rapture doesn't work in Live 8. I have it installed where my plugin folder in located, but Live doesn't see it. Is anyone else having this problem?

Have you tried a fresh rescan of your plugins?

In L7, it went like this:

Page 204 of Live 7 manual, last paragraph of section 15.2 :

You can also rescan if you believe your plug-in database has been corrupted. Hold down the Alt modifier (for any OS) while pressing rescan will delete your plugin database altogether and run a clean scan of your plug-ins.

---------------------------

I haven't read the L8 manual, but you may want to look up the rescan in the glossary and see if it works. Otherwise, EMAIL Cakewalk, don't call them...phone support has ridiculous hold and wait times, with no 800 number.

I've been using it in 8 regularly, no issues at all.

Not sure if it matters, but I am using Live 8 demo (so close to buying).
The alt+rescan does seem to still work, however now Live is just crashing all over the place! I deleted some less reputable vsts, like anything made in synthedit, as they were creating errors. However Live's stability is gone. I may have to reinstall? I didn't think plugins could do this kinda damage...

ps. I am also thinking this is related to Vista...I just used "run as admin" and it worked...

Argh! Sorry man, it was really late when I posted that. two negatives do equal a positive...typically. I however, can break those rules! :D

I'm using vista 64 bit and rapture 1.1 doesn't work with with Live 7 Akai edition (came with MPK49). emailed tech support, there is no option in the 1.1 installer for 64bit, only 32bit. 64bit install will be addressed in 1.2 release.

There is a work around that involved installing 1.1 on a 32 bit machine and going into registry files... too scary for me I installed 1.0 to get Live to recognize it, but it is locking up a lot, so I am not using it. Will wait for 1.2. Should be out soon.

Edit: I am also using an NI Audio Kontrol 1. Unplugged it and Live and Rapture 1.0 are working fine together. So my problem is AK1.
