Grouping group tracks

Might be totally unnecessary but I don't understand why you can't group a couple of group tracks. Just for the sake of saving from having to run another instance of a plugin when you already have so many running. I don't know exactly where this might be useful, possibly on a drum and percussion tracks where you want to group the kick, toms and snare and give it some punch and then you want to group the cymbals which are on separate tracks and give them some sheen, but then you want to group the two groups and run an instance of Ozone or T-Racks, which can be CPU intensive at times and you don't want to run two instances. Just a thought! Seems like if Ableton added grouping, it shouldn't have been limited like it is. The group tracks should have more of the options that normal audio or midi tracks do.

I'd reccommend some heavier instrument rack usage

you are not making a very strong case here you know.

I'm not saying there isn't a case to be made, but you aren't really making it !
You seem to be saying :"I haven't had a problem with this and can only speculate at where there might be one, but I'll complain anyway", I mean that's not too convincing is it?

you need to hit them with a real world problem, these imaginary ones aren't persuasive at all.

I was actually looking if I could group a couple of group tracks yesteryday but noticed there are no such feature. I mean, the group function is there, might as well be extended to deal with sub-grouping as well.

This could be so handy for live use with the APC. I am planning on grouping all tracks in a song as a single group track, which can be unfolded as needed. It would be nice to be able to have other group tracks within each song. One use would be to group all drum tracks. Another might be to hide some dummy clips away.

I haven't tested this completely yet but it looks like closed group tracks only take up one track, which would allow one to beat the 64 track limit with the APC by only having two to three opened song tracks showing at once. (if I'm understanding the whole thing correctly!)

already tried to do it many times
e.g. when working with multiple drum kits and working with guitars + overdubs
