Hi folks,
We just released the second beta version of the upcoming 8.0.2 bugfix update.
Every Live 8 owner can use this beta version.
As it is a beta, please remember to backup critical data before you use it.
Version info:
Current version: Live 8.0.2b2
Expiration date: 2009/05/07
Required serial: Live 8 full version
Kind Regards
/Alex
Changes from Live 8.0.2b1 to 8.0.2b2:
Improvements:
Updated Manual
Bugfixes:
Under certain conditions, authorize Live on Mac OS X could freeze Live. [5372]
For particular parameters, the automation view would not properly updated. [5386]
Using any XY control would let the mouse pointer jump on mouse-up and could even crash Live.[5400]
On Mac OS X, the Configure mode for Audio Units would not work.
Adding the audio file of a frozen track into the arrangement would result in an extremely long clip.[5409]
Trigger any clip in Complex or Complex Pro warp mode via MIDI Key range mapping would not pitch the clip.[5395]
Under certain conditions, opening a set would not be possible as long as the file manger is open.[5379]
Under certain conditions, when loading a new Live set it would not be possible to delete the temp directory of the current project. For example after unfreezing a track.[5408]
MIDI Mapping a parameter with identical min and max value would crash Live.[5346]
Loading a particular Live set would fail with an "Invalid Product ID" message box.[5427]

Are files created with 8.0.2b2 able to be opened with 8.0.1, or is it the same as b1?
I was a twit and had saved a remix I needed to deliver today with 8.0.2b1 and was unable to open it in 8.01 today after the 8.0.2b1 expired.

It depends on the Live set. If there's a Looper instance in the set, it cannot be opened in Live 8.0.1.
However, the safest way would be to stick with the beta in that case.
Of course, the final 8.0.2 will open every 8.0.2b2 document.

hey, why didn't you fix the absolute mouse issue ("wacom") on the piano roll scroller/zoomer in the midi editor.
this is really lame.
that was such a small thing to fix and would have meant to get over the wacom issue once and for all.
so i currently still need to fire up pen2live only because of that "minor" detail.
i live in the midi editor... after all, it's a sequencer, right?
i'm not that annoyed by this, but it put me in a bad mood.

I don't know if I need to download the updated library or not. How do I determine this?

How come it's not possible to set Complex Pro as the default warp mode in the preferences?

they acknowledged the pianoroll was simply an oversight and will for sure be fixed soon..

I can confirm that 8.01 will not open a set saved in 8.02b2 (regardless if there is a looper or not in it). Is there anything else that can't be in the set? (Too many translators error)
