clip enveloppe inconsistency

i was trying to edit some clip automation on the 'beat swing' of the grain delay.
and it doesn't seem consistent: with clip enveloppe automation, you're supposed to have RELATIVE values. like x% of an effect (this is materialized by the red dot that moves when some parameter is automated). the max value of the parameter is unchanged. i hope you all agree with me.
so why is it that this 'beat swing' shows values from -50% to + 50%?
it should be from 0 to 100%, where 100% would be the max value i've choosen in the 'beat swing' box of my delay...
currently, if i enter 33% in the box of the delay effect, and if i put the enveloppe automation to 50%, the enveloppe overrides the value i've entered? this doesn't make sense (it's like if the red dot was above the slider/knob).
please someone explain me...
(this works for any delay effect, i'm going to check if there are other such inconsistencies).
