pretty sweet idea.
The app, streams Richie's DJ set list to your phone and you can buy the track instantly from BeatPork while your dancing to his set.
Discuss.

Fucking brilliant. If I had that for every dance I've been to I would have bought ten tracks per night and have an amazing collection and be quite happy about it.

Agreed. Though please remember *someone* has to listen to new music!

how is it "brilliant" that someone's posting up tracklistings on twitter, which has been out for what-- 3 years now? that's what trainspotters are for
i love how so many people in the dance music scene want to put everything on autopilot instead of keeping some mystery involved. so now i can see what hot new tracks are endorsed by pretty boy richie hawtin and i can go out and be an awesome DJ just like him!!!
sorry if i interrupted the richie dick sucking. please continue.

Anyhow... Tweetport. That's cool. The mystery of trying to figure out what music you heard long after you heard it is something that I will gladly give up. I have a lifetime's worth of music that falls into this category, and the brunt of the stuff that I've heard and liked I have never found and never owned. I hope this sort of thing expands into a system where you can buy a digital copy, as well as being connected to retailers who will sell you physical copies of the music.
The option to buy a musical file often doesn't get me to open my wallet. Vinyl does.
I'd like to see this carried out in radio, TV, all media really. This way we can be record shopping every waking moment of every day. The future looks bright.

yeh good one. you start to look a bit of a tool going up to the dj booth to get the name and struggle to text msg it to yourself. and people like hawtin are too far away to shout the names over to you

What is wrong with people knowing the songs a DJ is playing again? The fact that average people have not been able to purchase dance music easily b/c it was only released on vinyl and was such a niche knowledge base has hurt dance music's popularity in the states big time.
I assume most people on this board make dance music... would you not be pumped if RH played your track and you sold 200 units right then?

I think this is a great idea and like other folks have mentioned, can actually boost sales of other artists AKA the Oprah Effect - if Richie plays your track, his devoted followers can than buy.
The best thing, if you prefer to remain incognito, you don't have to use it.
