we just released a Live 8 bugfix update, Live 8.0.2.
Just check http://www.ableton.com/downloads or use the "Check for Updates" command from Live's help menu.

Alex, note that "Check for updates" option in the help menu of the beta Ableton Live 8.0.2b3 does not allow to update the software to release version (8.0.2). Just thought you should know. (I am on Mac OS X 10.5.6)

Just installed, turning a Nocturn knob will not initiate VST autmation recording, both VST GUI and Live shell elements are moving. If I first touch the VST knob with the mouse Live starts recording the VST automation, also if I move the Nocturn knob.

aww..no wonder I got confused!

Configure mode crashes live 8.0.1 when deleting the first one made.. Fixed?
Since were on a live tour atm we stick to 7 until we get to know 8, but I do play with it a bit when we have time !

If I already have the suite installed, is there any point in me downloading the whole suite again to upgrade Live?

Not kidding let's hassle them together...
The suite installer didn't fit on my memory stick (DAW no internet) so I installed the regular Live seems to have worked fine.

I think i misunderstand what the issue is, it seems to be working for me. I hit "configure", move parameters on my nocturn, they show up in the config browser. Then I arm the arrangement for recording and hit play and start playing with the parameters from my nocturn, all the automation gets recorded.

Mmm had to fire up the DAW to check that... you're right. Weird, I tried it on an older set and it wouldn't start recording maybe I should've hit "configure" again? Anyhow I can get it to record so, good stuff!

yeah that oversight in 8.0.1 made live 8 pretty useless to me. Glad they fixed it so soon, now I'm back to recording automation like a madman!

Had a good twiddle, Nocturn automation recording definitely works now.

Any chance of a fix for the bug that prevents the M-Audio Axiom controller lesson from working properly?
