Don't think the problem has been fixed. Alex at Ableton is aware of it and was looking into the problem a couple of month's back but silence since then.

Hello,
the big problem with the Quattro Sport on XP/2000 is that sometimes after a while of playing it just stop. No crash or something similiar, just no audio. After close and reopen the driver it works fine again until the next stop.
But it's not a general Problem of Live. It also happend with other software (from NI, Propellerheads,..). But to make it very complicated there are also user without problems with the Quattro Sport on Win XP/2000.
So it seems that it is related to win2000/XP and the used hardware (mostly motherboard with USB ports).
Some times ago, a Live user was forwarding me a mail from midiman support and they said that you should be sure that the IRQ for the USB controller is not shared with another physical device (soundcard, graphiccard,modem...).
Another user said that he has no problem using a PCI USB card instead of the internal USB (on the motherboard). But this is no solution for a notebook.
So this is my current level of awareness. I have no idea how many Live users have this problem with Quattro Sport and how many not.
So in the future we want to set up a database for all (audio & midi) hardware related issues.
regards,
Alex

Just wanted to mention that I had the problem described by Alex with my Quattro and Live on win2k, but not in any other apps.
I reinstalled Live and that fixed my drop outs. Good thing to try if nothing else works. And of course make sure to upgrade the drivers now and then.
Have fun!
