Hello,
I had a desaster today with Live 4.
After closing down Live 4, it would not start and coming with this message error: an erro occured while reading c:\Documents and settings\khaled\application data\Ableton\live 4.0.1\preferences\preferences.cfg. Apparentlt the document was created by a more recent and incompatible version than this (Unknown conpound stream type).
I tried to remove and re-install clean but it still coming with the same error.
I have not got any ear;ier version installed.
Could ypu please help as I am stuck!!

which system do you run it on?
when you removed it, did you delete the preferences file? try it.
then if you're on windows, uninstall Live4 and remove all stuff reffering to it in the register.

sorry for the delay. Was it possible to delete the preferences file so that it worked or do you still have this problem?

Ye it is sorted. I deleted the preferences from local settings.
