Live still Crashing STANDALONE!

The only way to prevent LIVE from LOcking whole System, doing LAUNCH standalone is DELETE contents of the LIVE_LOG.txt file. WHY is this? Running WIN98se with a 450mhz processor. No other audio program i own does this to my System. Live's P.C. System requirements state that a min 300Mhz CPU is recommended. Seems some ERROR checking code is needed to bypass or ignore problems writing to the Log file. :?:
