Minimum MAC Requirement

I'm going to buy a PowerBook or an IBook in the next couple of months probaly used or refurbished. I know the min. req. for live is a G3, but what do you guys recomend?

I've used a G3 900 for the better part of a year with no problems except that, well, more than one of the live reverbs is out. I don't mind though.

Still only using v3. With v4 and VSTs, you'll need more bang.

Hey noiseonepause, try Wave Arts MasterVerb. It sounds as good as LIVE's reverbs and it uses far less CPU.

An iBook can only take 640 MB of RAM; more RAM is always good. Get the Powerbook and put in a Gig.

Consider upgrading the slow factory installed hard drive with a faster one. These are supposed to be the fastest laptop drives:

At home I use a powerbook g4 550, at my studio I have an old g3 450 tower. One of those white dual usb ibooks could probably be had pretty cheap, and they're 500mhz g3's... that's probably a good starting point
