Firewire 410 / spdif issues

Hi, anyone have a solution for a digital/live problem?
I am running a DAT into my Firewire 410 via the RCA spdif input-
I configured the 410 using the control Panel, and when I select
1/2 I have no problems hearing the DAT (headphones plugged into 410).
But when I go into Live and try to select an input I have no signal.
I get this artifact in Channel 3/4 but it doesn't appear to be the input itself,
sort of a low level flutter. I'm guessing that this is an oversight-
some routing error on my part...
Does anyone know how I can receive the DAT signal in Live?
