{OT} Gah! How do I find more events in my area?

I live in Orlando Florida, and every few months Im able to catch wind of an EDM event thats going on. (DJ Icey in November of 08, Crystal Method a week ago...)
I want to find more stuff but the google machines turned up shit... Any ideas on how to find some stuff?

Local music papers, go to your local record store and pick up flyers and chat w/ the clerks.

If you're into electro, the forum at electroalliance.net has an events section with events in a few cities in Southern Florida.

Back in the day we used to participate in something called "leaving the house". It was insane the amount of events and shows we'd find out about from other people also out and "leaving the house".
Man, those were the days. I'm sure there's no reference to it on the net. Probably why nobody does it anymore.

Yeah,
I was in central Florida in January. "Land of The Dead". The only club I could find that played house was a gay club in Oceola. Even that club was dead.
Miami's only 3 hours away though....
