Destroy FX Bufferoverride problem on "group channels"

Here's a strange problem I've just discovered in Live 4.
I've created a "group channel" through which I route other audio channels, and don't run any clips on it.
If I try to use Bufferoverride with tempo sync and tempo set to auto (in this mode it should be receiving tempo info from Live) it stops working, like it's in bypass or isn't getting any tempo info from Live.
I've tried other tempo syncable VST FX on the same group channel, and they all sync fine which would mean that there's something wrong with the plugin, but it works fine if I use it on any other normal audio channel where clips are running or on the master output.
