the hot swap button is really handy for existing instruments in track view to change presets or devices.
it would be perfect, if it is possible to add new device by right clicking at the trackview and a contextmenu pops up with all abletons buildin devices and vst plugs.

+1. preferably with a sort/search feature aswell.
the library browser kind of sucks right now.

Could not agree more, I've been spending a LOT of time in Live recently, and on a daily basis keep thinking how useful this feature would be.
Especially if you could customize the dialog, so that you could put the most used ones you want within quick reach, to stop the pop up getting clogged with unused info....

this is so awesome and smart.

would be an excellent workflow addition. The right click should select WHERE you want the device, which is a huge help when working with large racks. I prefer to not use the mouse whenever possible, or as little as possible. now you could right click where you want your new effect (or inst) and use the arrow key/floating search box to select and hit enter. None of this click and drag that's going to ruin my guitar playing wrist in ten year.
