I have FL studio as a slave in Ableton, but when I hit play (from Ableton) there's a bit delay between when the two come in. How can I go about getting them in sync so they're both coming in on the one beat?

I've tried various combinations of midi and buffer settings in both programs but it's not making a difference. Thanks in advance...

sub-problem:

not only are the 2 programs not starting at the same time, but FL Studio is playing at a completely different tempo when I press play from Ableton. When I press play from FL Studio (which does not trigger Ableton to start), it plays at the correct tempo. When I switch back to Ableton, it is much slower.

I've tried this by using an audio track's Ext. In set to FL Studio and also using the FL Studio VSTi on a midi track. I get the same results either way. The delay offset on the VSTi rewire has no effect.
