Audio recording/playing late-driver compensation no help

Hi All,

Usually I use Live rewired to DP, so this problem has not risen till now.

My setup, G4 1.25x2 (modest yet functional) 2x 2408mkIII, Live 7.0.16. I have done the driver compensation lesson and according to that, I should be experiencing no latency. When I record audio though I must shift forward to remain in sync whether I record to a clip slot or DAW style Driver error compensation setting does nothing really. When I set the audio buffer lower, the RECORDED latency goes down..hmmm. I have no problems loading in clips/samples/audio that is trimmed to length already rewired or not. Midi sync is fine.

Any clues or help would be greatly appreciated. I am savvy with gear and I think I've covered all the normal bases.

Best,

Fritz Doddy

Hi Fritz,

Please note that the Driver Error Compensation will only take an effect if you turn Monitoring "OFF" for the recorded audio track while you record. It is aimed at "Direct monitoring" scenarios, where you listen to your audio signal before it enters the computer - the recording will be shifted automatically then.-

If you keep monitoring set to "ON" or "AUTO" instead, everything is recorded exactly as monitored, no shifting or compensation takes place.

Best,
Jörg
