no vsti recording when ableton live 4 is in rewire mode?!

hi folks.

quick question-
i noticed that while using live 4 as a rewire app in cubase sx, that i am not able to record or use vsti's in live 4.

am i missing a preferences setting, or is that 'just the way it is'?
