Fast MIDI note sequence in Simpler not played correctly

Hi,
I have a problem with Simpler/Sampler:
Live 8 is rewired to Logic 8 and Logic triggers a fast sequence of MIDI notes for a snare drum sound in Live, coming from a Simpler device (or Sampler, it doesn't matter).
As the notes are overlapping, new notes start before previous notes have finished their envelope. However, the previous notes are not sustained until the end and cut before the actual end of the sound. This happens with a sound I have created myself and it's a single sample.
When the same MIDI sequence triggers a multisampled Simpler/Sample (from the EIC 2 for example), this doesn't occur but is played correctly.
I have disabled the "R" (retrigger) option in the Simpler device but to no avail. The only difference between the two instruments seems to be the single/multi sample mode.
Can anyone help me with this?
