Not one of your best. Your other tracks use a lot of samples and instrument presets with appegiator. Trying to play yourself makes it obvious that you are not a musician. Thanks for sharing.

Sorry!

It was not meant as a putdown. I enjoy your tracks. I don't want to be discouraging. Keep them coming. Peace Russ!

I had to listen just because tlennon's original comment was so funny.
I'm not a musician either so I kinda liked it. Not so sure about the fills but I like the solid groove and the whumpy synth sound.

Huuh, i am not a musician either. But what does that mean? I cannot play a typical instrument and a few months ago, I even don't know that I will be able to make music. But I am quite sure that in the age of DAWs several well known "musicians" are in the same position. Therefore I think that a DAW is some kind of instrument and a good piece of music is a good piece of music. But I must admit, that it is worth to know something about musical theory, but it is not absolut necessary. A good ear, creativity and talent counts much more. Just my 5 cents...

Thanks for the listen lads.
It just made me chuckle since I am a 25 years experienced guitar player and guitar tutor, which i think would qualify me as a musician. But, I am ready to tell my students this week just before they go into their grading exams, 'By the way, I am not really a musician so...good luck.'
The UKRuss stuff i do is just a bit of fun, I mainly do it on the train and enjopy it from a dance perspective. my more serious 'nomsi' material which can be found through the links in my sig, features a lot fo sound design and guitar work which may satiate Terrences need for musicianship...if he'd bothered to have a listen.

Well I guess I stand corrected. Keep doing what you're doing. As I said previously, I enjoy you work. I miss-spoke in my first post.

In this track, the hi-hat sound is a found-sound sample, and the bass is a self made layered patch from two synths, plus the vocal sample is manipulated...I guess at least demonstrating I am using some kind of production techniques beyond presets and an arpeggiator (out of interest, in my last track I posted those are all programmed scales overlapped with an rhythmic offset, no arpeggiator)
I am fully prepared to accept the track is very ordinary and I may be an ordinary musician.
But to write me off as not a musician at all, a little harsh I felt.
However, now you have me thinking: Better to be a shit musician or not a musician at all?
I dunno...
In the mean time I continue to work within my limitations.

You are not limited. I see you have put much effort in your art and your production skills are very good. By all means keep going strong. My apologies again.

I'm just winding you up now.
Your words did actually get me thinking though, I should stop just slapping stuff that took me a matter of hours to put together on the internetz. I am now re-grouping to focus on what I really want to do musically. if it hadn't been for your honesty, I may never have done that.
If that leads to my greater creativity then you will have done me a favour.
