Running ableton on 2 computers

Im just about to buy ableton 8 and after browsing through the licensing FAQ have noticed you can install ableton on 2 machines. This is good news as I intended to have a copy on my laptop for the dj side of it and a copy on my desktop machine for producing.

Now the thing is it also states that although you can have ableton installed on two machines, you cannot run them both at the same time! Does this mean you need an internet connection so ableton can authorize itself every time it starts up like in the demo? I hope not as this will make playing out on a laptop almost impossible.

Cheers

an internet connection is only required to authenticate a serial number the first time around. after that ableton simply trusts you to not use both copies simultaneously, you'd just be breaching the agreement.

if you'd like to use it on two computers at once then purchasing a second serial will cost you less than 50% of the original standard price (if i remember correctly). do a search here for the same topic and e-mail ableton with your question.
