How to setup External synth w/mutiple MIDI in?

Hey fellow Ableton users!
I have an external synth (Novation Supernova II in this case, but the type of synth isn´t the issue here) with multiple MIDI input channels. I have connected the Master Audio Out from the synth to my audio interface; so far so good. If I want to use a single MIDI channel (for example MIDI Channel 1), I can use the External Instrument plugin perfectly. However, if I want to use more than one channel, for example channel 1 and channel 2, I can´t use 2 separate tracks with 2 External Instruments cause the Audio signal will be duplicated on both tracks since I will essentially here all audio output from the synth on each. The only way around this I have found so far is to setup 2 Individual MIDI tracks (with channel 1 and channel 2 output respectively) and 1 Audio track with input set to the synth output and turning the Monitor setting to "In".
My question is whether there is another more elegant way to solve this? I can of course Group all the tracks related to my synth so that it doesn´t take up any Screen space, but what would really be nice is if I could somehow use the concept of abletons rack system to setup the whole synth so I could recall the setup from anywhere
sorry if this was confusing, but hey
.. thats kinda how I feel!
