Think it depends on how deep you go into programming your music.... I do basic stuff, I record music, use the devices with minor tweaks when needed... I use both session and arrange view, I use follow actions, I use Rewire, I have a bunch of controllers (some using midi translators)... I know my way around Live, been using it for years, and I haven't found any major problems with Live 8 suite (except that Simpler and Sampler still don't timestretch).

I think most of the people I see having problems are people with certain Mac OS's, and doing special tricks.

I've been doing sessions with my artist with no crash and 100% satisfaction (except that they still haven't put timestretch in Simpler or Sampler).

naturally the forum for a software product will be filled with people complaining about a new release and some fanboys saying it works fine on their machine.

I'm in the fanboy camp, I've had a few crashes but it's about as stable as Live 7.

try the demo, nobody can predict ahead of time how stable it will be for you.
