So i just got an mpk49. I have my midi sync set to external, yet when i turn on the arpeggiator (or the note repeat for the pads) it appears as those no signals are being sent anymore, as if Live really isn't syncing to the mpk, yet i turn it off and the notes play again. I can use the mpk49's internal sync and it transmits just fine using the arp, but of course it wont' match my bpm that way, and thus is useless. Is there a specific setting in the Midi Sync tab i need to change in Live's end....

Ive got the same problem just trying to use the usb, which i though sent messages both ways, but you can solve it by attaching a midi cable from an out to the midi in, but its neccessary to have a midi out coming form computer, like from sound card or somthing.

Ok, so i'd basically have the usb cable hooked up in addition to a standard midi going to the IN on the mpk49? I've got an EMU 1616m, so i've got 2 spare sets of midi connectors to work with. So you've gotten live to work synced up to it using Live as a master with the mpk49 midi sync set to external??? Thanks for the help!
