Hello, I'd appreciate if someone can tell me how I can make an audio track stop playing Automatically when the clip in ends.
Thanks.

Hi Thanks for your response. Actually it's off, what happens is I use it to perform with a band and I can't easily press the space bar/stop button. The result is that I forget sometimes and the next track I have in the arrangement will start playing before I launch it. I'm hoping to find a way in which playback occurs only within 2 locators.
Thanks again.

i think you would need to have a dummy clip which is mapped back to a midi assignment of the stop button

if you can reliably find a few seconds during each song to visit the computer, you could use the loop braces to loop some silence after each song. then just move the loop brace to the gap after the currently playing song
?

the dummy clip sounds interesting, the other one sounds like it would take me a few key strokes too many. How can I map a clip to the stop button? thx.

I created a dummy clip and the track does stop with the Follow Action set to Stop, but the click continues. is there a way to stop everything, including the click? thanks

you could map to the global stop too
It just works without m4l - via midiyoke/iac-driver

I did this accidentally a few days ago, when I mapped a midinote to the stopbutton (I wanted to stop playback but forgot I was in midimapmode)...
You need to set up a virtual midiport like midiyoke on a pc or the iac-driver on a mac for this - no m4l, settings for midi preferences midiyoke/iac input 1: activate "track" and "remote", midiyoke/iac output 1: activate "track".
Then setup one miditrack to send its data to the virtual midiport and add a simple midiclip (it should only contain the note you wanna use for automating playback). In order to get it working you need to play that midifile before you enter midimapmode and click on the stop button.
Now if you exit midimapmode you can play that clip via the virtualmidiport where it gets rerouted into Live and stops playback.
It's a bit confusing at first but it works.
