anyone with any experience using an MaxMSP, Puredata, arduino or a makeboard as an interface with Live?
I'm planning on getting either of these to use with Live, i just wanted to know a few things:
  • 1) is it possible to use the MaxMSP or Pd, not Max for Live, to create standalone VSTs to use within Ableton?

    2) also use these programs to communicate between Live and the arduino or makeboard, and use those to tweak the parameters by assigning them to knobs?

1) Pluggo (plugins made in Max/Masp) support is being canceled since a few months. Technically you could still make them in Max 4.6. But since it's a dead technology I'd stay away from it.

2) My exeperience is with Max which can receive any message (OSC, HID, Midi...) and send any message. So: YES!
