i have a clip, it is classical music, i want to tell live it is exactly 4 bars long so it will fit in my set...

I am not sure if i do understand your question. (because then it would be extremely easy to answer)

possibility 1:
on left under corner of the screen there are 3 circles.
one with L, one with "music notes" and one with E

Be sure the one with the music notes is yellow.

from there about 2 cm to the right, there you can find the word "lenth".
Here you can adjust the length of a loop.

Possibility 2:

You can also just drag the end of the loop and move it, so that the loop is longer.

if you record the sample... don't create a clip, only press the "rec" knob on the clip were you record.
the length of the loop is automatically adjusted to the length of the recording.
then you can timestretch the audio exactly to the length of the clip you want to let it fit in your mix.

i'm on arrangement view, so there's no L circle.
making an end marker and dragging back was best solution. great.

ps. typing 4 into the length window, didn't solve it - i think that is a loop length.

you're still using live 6? ok, then all you need to do is put your warp marker for "1" right at the beginning, then double click beat "20" so it's highlighted, and drag that to the end of the clip. adjust in between as needed.
