I Set My VST Folder to HD Now Crashes when openig

Anyone know what it should be doing to fix this. I just bought a MAC and Ableton 6. I set my VST folder to HD now when i try to open Ableton it keeps crashing. Is there any way to get into my preferences folder and fix this. I have tried to delete ableton but every time i load it it keeps crahing. HELP PLEASE.
