Very nice! I haven't commented here for a while, but thought I let you know that I really like it. It's the first thing I've seen posted on these forums that sounds a bit like Chris Clark, who's my god of electronic music.

You mean it reminds you of Dabrye? This track contains no samples and not even a preset. Oh, actually there is a vocal sample but I sampled myself (with and RS290) while tracking, so that´s hardly your "average" use of sampling.

What synths did you use?

Prophet8, Jupiter 8, modular (mixed euro stuff), Voyager, Theremin and for drums DRM1 mkIII and 808.

I just remembered I did some notes on the sounds somewhere else. Maybe it will be of interest to somebody:

Basicly I just recorded tracks one by one into Ableton. The only "DAW arranging" was that I edited out 8 bars somewhere in the middle.
I also used Ableton as sequencer for tracks like chords, bass and drums (which I quantized before tracking. But again, no computer editing of those sequences. I just played the tracks from start to whenever I thought I was done.
The foundation chords (which are not even "proper chords" as they all have only two notes) are Prophet8 going through a very long (1/4 note) delay (E1010) and the big old Roland flanger which I am sweeping manually all through the track. (+ Mutator filter).
Then came a JP8 in arp mode doing the (at times) marimba-like pattern.
Then I laid down some drums from the DRM1 going through Ebbe&Flut.
Then Voyager bass going through Ebbe&Flut.
Then Voyager lead line. I really like this: Patching my Korg tape delay in the Voyager insert. This one was not sequenced, but I played two tracks and took the best one.
Then I played some Theremin. You probably only hear it if you listen for it.
Then came the fun parts: Modular goodness being somewhat in sync by getting in some trigger. I did two tracks of rs290 with me singing a phrase and then mutilating that. There is some Plague Bearer on those I think.
There is a TymeSefari track that makes some glitchy rhythms.
Almost done I made another P8 chord track going though tape delay and plague bearer. I just played by hand trying to enhance the dynamics of it all.
Finally I found the drums needed more oomph, so I did a very simple take (DRM1) with no fills (almost) and no wacky filter. I just layered this with the first drum track.

Wow. I wish I could work like that. I'm the opposite, painstakingly worrying over each bar, which is such a bad idea in the beginning of a song.
I found the Dabrye song I was thinking of: "the Lish". It starts at about 8 seconds in. It's a similar sound, but slower. Not trying to call you out as a poser or something, I just noticed it. Good track again.
How do you like the mutator? I've been looking for one for a while now.... Sadly it's been discontinued and prices/availability seem only to rise.

Don´t worry. I think it was just hyped massively at some point. It is two really plain LP filters setup for stereo. If you want to have fun, I would anytime recommend a smallish euro-modular setup.
