Komplete 5 399 .. is it worth it?

So I have many of the instruments in K5 already. if I went for it I would basically be buying
Massive, Guitar rig, Electric piano, acoustic piano. I have all the rest which I have bought in various ways over the uyears. so is it worth the money to get K5. It may mean that the upgrade to K6 or whatever is next will be much cheaper. Otherwise I have no upgrade path.
I also have Ableton Suite so get a lot from that . Oh what to do??
What do ya think

I'm in the same boat as you, already have roughly half the plug-ins in komplete. But I'm thinking it's probably worth it for future upgrades and wasn't it originally like $999?

You g uys are in the perfect position to sell off your individual plugs and buy komplete. Seriously, even if you sell some for 60 or 70 bucks each, you'll be well on your way to bringing the 399 down a fair ways.
There are lots of people who can't afford 399 or don't want the whole thing but would surely buy absynth 4 or fm8 for 70 bucks.
It's like I did with the ableton suite instruments. Ableton was only knocking 20 bucks for each operator and sampler at the time I was upgrading to the live 7 suite, so I sold each for about 60, which knocked off 120 bucks from the suite for me instead of just 40.
I also sold my copy of Massive before upgrading to Komplete 5 last year. It's a good way to go. You guys can upgrade for next to nothing if you sell individual licenses. Someone else gets cheap individual prodcuts and NI still gets more money. Everyone wins.

has NI even announced Komplete 6 yet? kinda surprised that you don't have an upgrade path to Komplete 5 now... doesn't NI do that? do you think that's why they lowered the price? to clear the store shelves for Komplete 6? i'm sure the upgrade to Komplete 6 would be worth it and if you can't just upgrade from what you then i'd say yes, go for it!

There is no Komplete 6 because there is no other product that they could add to Komplete. Unless they added Kore 2 software edition.
Most likely they will announce a few products at once at the same time as komplete 6 like they did last time with the various upgrades that came out at the time. Who knows what the next ones will be. Reaktor 6 likely and ???

I was about to give my stock answer of "Eh. I dunno. But, Pluggo from Cycling '74 is totally worth it..."
But then I find this:
http://www.cycling74.com/products/pluggo
...and they're incorporating some of it into MfL.
Eh.

saw this comment in a thread over at KVR and thought it was a great idea...
What they really need to do is make all their synths and their components built inside Reaktor 6, consolidate their sampling line into Kontakt, and just run with Reaktor, Kontakt, Kore, Traktor, and Guitar Rig.
what say you? probably too late for this to be done in Komplete 6 if it's to be released sometime this year.

I think the main reason they sporadically drop the prices on their instruments/bundles or offer 2 for 1 deals and such is they know they are no longer the only developer and there is lots of competition when it comes to instruments. But I think you will rarely or never see big discounts on Traktor because it's a major player in DJing and as some claim becoming the industry standard. Supply and demand, nothing more.

This might be great to you as a consumer but not so great for the company. The more individual instruments they offer the more money they stand to make on each purchase. It runs along the same lines as people feeling Live should come with all the instruments standard, no suite.

Perhaps offering this kind of sale is a guaranteed way for NI to get a quick cash infusion. I don't see any other reason they would offer the bundle for this price. I was actually planning on paying full price for Komplete at some point. This price is simply sick.
I'll note that it does say that quantities are limited (which furthers my inclination to believe NI needs X number of dollars, so they allocate that many Komplete bundles to get that money and get some buzz going for an older product).

But if online retailers (at least the few I checked) are also selling it for $399 then quantities are probably not
that limited.

Komplete 6 on the way if quantities are limited I would have thought, or somehing similar.
be interesting to see what next, there must be a few updates and new products on the way as the last updates weren't all that. I did upgrade for quite little at the time from 4 but was pretty disappointed. . .
I already had Massive and don't play guitar so the guitar rig apgrade wasn;t much.
Kontakt, well it looks nicer but i only really use it for playback. . .
but, if you don't have it, it's a pretty awesome deal. I paid £800 and that was a deal so this price is ridiculous. get it, then get on the upgrade cycle

Komplete 6 would require at least a few new NI products to come on the market, as Komplete 5 already included the latest versions of things such as Guitar Rig 3, which was only released a year ago, and I hear no plans for FM9, or upgrades to Absynth or Massive etc. So I'm sure that Komplete 6 will come eventually, but I can't imagine it happening in the near future.
For 400 bucks it is an awesome deal. I would buy it in a heartbeat, except I couldn't even stump up 40 bucks right now
What I like is that NI have been trying to respond to the flat/recession driven economy by offering price breaks (they offered Massive and Battery 3 for 99 bucks each a while ago). This totally contrasts with Ableton, who did away with educational upgrade pricing and increased the price for Live 8 and the Live 8 Suite over the Live 7 counterparts. Ableton could really take a leaf out of NI's books, although I guess everyone going crazy for the APC40 means they are doing quite well right now.
OK, everyone stop buying APC40's (you won't get it delivered for months anyway), and stop upgrading to Live 8 - and then they might see the light and do what everyone else is doing and pricing their product more competitively and fairly in difficult economic times.
BTW - it doesn't matter if you play guitar - Guitar Rig is an awesome effect on bass (it has bass amp sims and FX), synths, organs and pretty much anything.

If you are in the U.S. you can get Komplete for a bit less than $399. I bought Komplete today from here
http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.com/pr ... sku=702965# . Over at KVR they said to enter the code MINE at the second checkout screen. It's the one you get after you login during the purchase (code won't work on the first screen). Sure enough they knocked another $65 off. So I picked it up for $334 w/free shipping too. That's the good part.
The bad part is that I already own Battery 2/3 and I pickup Kontakt 3 a couple of weeks ago. So now I need to sell both of these to offset the cost a bit.
