It just seems every time I get a nice jam going, live seems to just freak out on me and crash.

here is the setup from tonite:

Arturia Jp8V running into an external effect output going to my Moog LPF, then back into live, then back out to another external effect out to the M-audio Tampa then back into Live with the Tal Chorus plugin inserted

next track: one drum loop running thru external effect and out an FMR RNC compressor

the track that made it crash...an external instrument channel with the Moog LP Stage II.

it seems to crash whenever i get to that part when i'm starting to write a bassline of sorts.

only other details i can think of is that I'm running a MOTU Traveler interface on a 15'' MPB with 2.16 Ghz dual core.



I'm quite miffed since live 8 doesn't seem to like my work flow. Any thoughts, comments, and or suggestions are more then welcome.

post the set with or without audio or drop in other audio content. I'll check if it can crash my computer.

did you check for midi loops?

maybe go through your preference settings and look for anything odd. if you've had to trash your config file some setting might be lost.

Sometimes, if the music you're making REALLY sucks balls, Live will do an auto-"crash". It's a built-in safety interlock to keep you from embarrassing yourself.

I just a had a nice look thru my prefs and can't find anything out of the ordinary

I'll upload the set for you, minus the audio

Why don't you send the crashlog to support@ableton.com?
It will tell exactly what is crashing.

dont take it personal live 8 crashes like an air france jet on me, but hey auto recover works a treat.

Live 8.0.4 is a big mess! Crashes in rewire mode all the f..... time!? and and and...........

8.0.2...is the 'stable' on for me...
had to re-install 8.0.4 to install 'samplification'.

the loop thing is cool though dom...enjoyed that..
