ableton mac crashes after booting help

hello. ableton crashes on my mac every time i run it. it gets past the splash screen, and the main GUI will load, but once i try to do anything it crashes. this doesn't happen on another user account on this same computer, so its not the app and not a system problem, but something in my user account.

System Configuration is such:

Hi Giorgio,

please send your log.txt from: user/library/preferences/ableton/live 8.0.4 to [email protected]
Also try, if deleting preferences.cfg and template.als from the same folder helps.

I've had something similar happen...

Live would hang forever trying to open my default template.

Try opening another Project. Drag the ableton project file unto your Live.app.... see if it will open.

If so, locate & delete your template (or replace with a backup)

so i trashed the ~/library/preferences/ableton folder, which killed all my plugins but got ableton working. i re-enabled AU plugins, and those are fine, but upon activating VST plugins, live crashes. I have some suspicions but haven't dived into the VST folder yet...

i've sent my e-mail off to support @ableton so we'll see if they come up with anything before i do, which would be nice...

Hi Giorgio,

we haven´t received any email from you yet, but it sounds clearly like a conflict with one or more of your installed VST plug-ins. Please remove your plug-ins from the VST plug-in folder on your system, activate the plug-ins in the preferences and move the VSTs back to the folder one by one (or in small groups). Rescan each time in Live´s file/folder preferences. Once Live crashes, you should have found the problematic plug-in.

looks like somehow my t-racks was causing the issue. gonna re-install and hope for the best...
