What non Akai APC controllers do you like for Live?

My main DAW is Sonar and so I'm tempted to buy a V Studio 100 and double up its usefullness and use it with Live at gigs.
What tempts me with the V Studio 100 is that it works with my main DAW, is suitable for use with other platforms, has controllers and its a digital mixer/soundcard with a 2 track back up of the backing tracks on SD card should the computer crash.
As cool as the APC is what other controllers out there are great for use with Live? What do you like to use or what did you end up going with in your search for a controller for Live?
peace,
Pimpleburger

got a remote sl 25, m audio x-session pro and a stanton dascratch(looking at a second dascratch) each has its own playability in live for different functions, it really depends on how you want to play more than anything.

BCR2000. so damn versatile and inexpensive.
after that the Novation SL series is pretty good. I might swap it out for an Akai MPK. the Akai MPD looks cool too, with that and Live you can get MPC-like functionality (I don't mean just hip hop beats.)
those Korg nano controllers look pretty cool too. cheap.

I have a korg nanopad and never use it because it doesn't always trigger and you can waste a lot of time just trying to make a beat but having empty spots in your playing sucks, dont waste your time or money, and MDP is easily worth the difference in price, thats what I'm looking at for drum pads now, actually, wanna buy a nano pad?

the next trendy super hip midi controller that comes out. it wont improve my beats any, but i could brag about it in a online forum.
but seriously...
never had any problems with the trigger finger, and then if im just doing synth stuff i use the korg nanokontrol

I thought the same thing cause I'm used to other pads where your fingers can still be in contact with the pads between hits. But the nanopads are very sensitive so you must break contact. Once I got used to this everything was fine and I use my nano's now more than the other controllers.

Akai mpd32 here.
Works like a charm for my purposes.
I strongly use fib02 sequencer from trackteam audio for beats, lovely with this controler.
I use mpd32 for sending effects, mastering tracks and navigate/launch scenes/clips.

padKontrol and nanoKontrol. Sometimes I feel like I'm a Korg product placement made flesh - but that's ok. It's possible that if the Akai mpd24 had been cheaper I wouldn't have bought a nanokontrol to take care of live mixing/knobbage.
