Changes from Live 8.0.5b3 to 8.0.5b4:

Improvements:

When using the APC40 Controller surface script, we check if the selection MIDI ports are the one from the APC40

Improved graphic performance when using Live on Windows 7 RC 1

Bugfixes:

On Windows 7 RC 1, 'Show in Explorer' would not work properly

Committing a groove would not respect a change of the 'Base' parameter [5662]

using the absolute mouse mode, several edit boxes of the Sampler would not work properly [5654]

In the Sampler, setting loop start or end would not work via Mouse click + Modifier [5653]

Having a selection of a group track contain an audio and a MIDI track, arming the MIDI track could crash Live [5693]

On Mac OS X, closing a particular Live set containing a FabFilter One plug-in would crash Live [5609]

Hey Alex, can you clarify how the above point is an improvement? Is that going to disable the use of Bomes MIDI Translator?

In general, the APC40 controller script only works when using the MIDI Ports of the APC40.
On OS X, this is mostly never an issue, because the names of the MIDI Ports are something like 'APC40'

On Windows, the MIDI Port names are currently something like "USB Audio device" (This will be improved soon but it another topic). If you have other MIDI devices with similar names it is easy to select the wrong one for the APC40.
In such a scenario it could happen, that you select the MIDI Ports of an MPD32 to use with the APC40 script.

Now, we check if the selected MIDI ports are the ones from the APC40 because it will only work with them anyway.
So the improvement is to avoid that you setup the APC40 with MIDI Ports it can't be used.

Concerning your question, does that change 'disable' what you want to do with the Boome's MIDI Translator?

Regards
/Alex

Will we be able to substitute virtual midi ports in the apc40 control surface configuration such that we can insert bome's between the hardware and ableton?

Thanks,

S

'Absolute mouse mode' refers to an option we introduced with Live 8.0.2.

Hello,
What about crash on export problems? When will it be solved? Is there some tips to avoid this?

(I just realized I did not get the crash when I deactivate the analyze file writing after the audio saving)

Windows 7 here. I can't open a project that works in Live 8.04. Anyone else having this problem? :?

I was kinda hoping to see an improvement, not things getting worse.

Anybody else having problems downloading this particular beta (OS X version)?

I've been trying all day and it starts really slowly and then just gets slower... Currently I'm at a whooping 1.6 kb/s. Yup, kilobytes.

I've never experienced slow downloads of Live before, not even during the L8 beta programme, when many people complained about slow downloads.

Sever issues?

Try to stop the download and then resume it.
I can't explain why, but it'll go faster afterwards.
It happened more than once to me with different browsers. It hasn't happened lately though (for me).
