I have done a search to find out how to setup the BCR2000 with Live 8 but most of the hits are from older versions and it is difficult to decipher what methods and setups are current and what are old methods. I have the Preset 1 setup on the controller and it is setup within Live 8. The controls work and automap appears to be working with the very top controls.

Now is the pre-canned preset with Live 8 what is considered Mackie Emulation mode?

Is there a better way to set the BCR200 up with Live 8?

that's not Mackie mode, google around to find it, I've never tried it.

there's no one way to use the BCR. I'd keep an open mind and use it lots of ways, whatever suits that situation. mind you, you can't import midi assignments, so you might want to make a default BCR template and save it off or set it as your default (under preferences.)

I edited mine by hand so that all the controls on all the presets are the same CC# but preset 1 has then on channel 1, preset 2 is channel 2 etc. that's just one example.
