recording keyboards on ableton

Is it possible to record keyboards on ableton without using the sounds in ableton? I want to record sounds from my Roland Fantom and Korg R3. Thanks for the help.
yes of course
you need a i/p into your computer. With a sound card.
You may need mono and stereo i/ps so at least 2 ins on your soundcard
Use instrument cables to connect to your sound card
set up ableton to receive the correct i/p's
Record arm the track
and play
simple as that
