hey everyone! i recently stumbled upon this neeat little studio gadget the Behringer B-CONTROL FADER BCF2000

im kind of looking for a really low budget home mixing console something alont the lines of this! it looks cool! the most important thing to me is the motorized faders. just wanted to get some peoples feedback on this tool if anyone is using one! ive been pretty skeptical about behringer products (they arent the best) but if people have good things to say about this think its wortha shot!?

I've been looking at this thing under a microscope as well. The videos and reviews I've seen/read about it all look good, though. As soon as I get the money, I'm grabbing one.

I love mine. I use it in Mackie Control mode which gives you nearly complete control of the DAW, device control, panning, muting, arming, soloing, transport buttons, etc, etc. Awesome for it's price and perfect for the hobby studio. If you have more than 8 channels in your project you can just press the Preset next/prev buttons to scroll through the banks of 8. Well worth the money!

I want to get a BCF but i think im gonna hold out for one of these-

I have programmed mine to act as a Mackie (not the standard Mackie Mode but a real preset) so that I can operate controls
without using shift button, easier with one finger... this means that I can switch to another preset to control Zebra or what ever rack I have mapped. I'm happy I bought it. What I love are the motorized faders. Unbeatable for mixing.

wow all this feedback is great! im realy stoked about this product..... it thinkkkk im gunna buy it. i found one for 200 canadian? good dealll? does this bad boy come with an ableton preset? i wanna use it for all my transport and mixing functions in ableton, maybe even use it in a live set a few times.

I've got one, but literally never use it since i focused on producing and not mixing, and i guess i prefer the precision of the mouse and keyboard when trying to minutely set the volume faders in ableton.

Was it worth the $200 to show my friends the motorized faders following everything happening onscreen even though i don't use the darn thing?...Hell yes.

So i did my research when i got home and took alot of peoples advice. Just bought my BCF-2000 IN WHITE! haha soo sexy! picked it up for 236$ canadian. not bad i guess, seems to be the going price for it anyways. Gave up buying a Kaoss pad (mini KP) for this. haha but money well spent..

I expect most people here are using the term "mixing" for mixdown of their tracks after recording/producing, not mixing as in DJ mixing. I also took quite some time to get into using it. As i first had the remote SL, who's faders are much to short to be any use for mixing, so I was used to working with mouse & keyboard. But this way I often got too caught up on the numbers. Now I set up the main parts (bass, kick, lead) going by the values so I get a good overall level, then I close my eyes with the bcf infront of me and do the rest of the volume ajusments, paning, send levels with my eyes closed and only concentrate on what it sounds like. (obviously this is also possible with a mouse & keyboard, but it's much more intuitive when working with those nice long faders)
