Is it Techno specific? ie does the remix have to be in the techno genre or can it be any?

Hello, I would give it a go. I do not write techno stuff at all so would be interested in what came out.

I'm waiting til version 8.0.5 of Live gets released before i start, hopefully its not too long so i actually have time to work on the remix.
Now will you have the winner's track professionally mastered or do we need to do our best to "master" the track ourselves?

if the label does not sort out a proper mastering, then you can't take the label serious.
the arrangement, music, ideas and a proper well balanced mixdown should be your job. mastering not, unless it is a low budget label.
it is never common to master your own material, that is as unprofessional as it can get. (not because of the skills!!!)
(oh god, i fear an endless discussion again...

yup.
that is and will always be one of the major points about a good mastering. period.
making a mastering yourself of material you mixed down already is utter pointless.
but hey sorry, let's not hijack this thread from the OP.
