Audio Exporting Problem

Good evening. I am using Ableton Live 8, and I'm trying to export my music as WAV.

Just in case, I have screenshots of my file in the links:
Arrangement view: Image
Session view: Image

The problem is that after selecting the option to export the music as WAV, it loads like it should(the loading pop-up with the yellow status bar), but when I try to play the WAV file, I get nothing. The clip lasts less than a second, and it has no sound.

Export settings: Image

How can I correct this? Thanks in advance.

I'm a beginner at this but it appears that if you select "all tracks" rather than "master" it fixes your problem and exports the entire thing into a wav file.

However, if you have any midi tracks using non-ableton stuff (i.e. general midi programs rather than ableton instruments), then the midi clips don't export, only the audio. In the process of trying to figure this out...

Hi jjlucash,

If you want to render the arrangement you have to select the time you want to export inside of the arrangement (click the first and the last clip while you are pressing shift).
Than choose (from arrangement view) "Export Audio/Video"
In your screenshot it seems you try to render from session view -which is empty- so it is no wonder that also the rendered file is empty.

(and keep in mind that if you render the master output all of your tracks has to be routed to master)

cheers, p.e.

Hi - thanks for posting the screenshots, very useful. You can see your problem in this screenshot - the first fields in the export pop-up show the length of 0:0:1, which means only the first 16th will be rendered, which results in exactly what you heard: a blip and then silence.

As Palmer Eldritch suggests, change to the arrangement view, check your loop brace and then try the export command again. This time, at the bottom of the pop-up it should tell you the range it will export, which should correspond to the loop brace and hence your complete song.

Good luck!
