Hey guys, does anybody have experience on how to install or mutliply the use of the USB ports in any Mac laptop, I am reviewing the possibility to purchase a refurbished lap top Mac but they only include 2 USB ports!!!!

Would the separate hubs accesories help me to connect midicontrollers, etc. Ableton can handle
up to 6 midi controllers, and definetely want to be able to exploite this capacity.

Technically I only have 1 available Port, becuase my audio interface is a line6 USB connected.

Music is life, thanks!!!!

Get a "powered" usb hub, if it is not powered externally some of your controllers might not receive enough juice to run properly.
I run a powered usb hub with 8 out's without any trouble.

Powered normally means via AC adapter.

Have you considered running through MIDI? Does the Line6 have MIDI?

The line 6 is the toneport, it connects to the PC through a 2.0 USB cable.

I guess the way to go, is the USB port for the Toneport, the remaining USB port will be for
the AC powered HUB, two connect a Novation Nocturn, Behringer UMX25 and a Yamaha QY100 sequencer.

I hope the speed for the above three is the same.

Thanks for the tips.

can anobody post the hubs in action with several midi controllers??
