Whenever I'm using a instrument rack, and I have an instance of External Instrument in the list of patches that is mapped to its own individual portion of the Chain Select, and I have another instrument from Live within that track, something strange happens. Normally whenever you select the a part of the chain, it will silence all other patches that are not on the chain. However, when you do this with external instrument, the external instrument chain will still play if it is not selected on the chain selector.



As you can see, the "Slice 1" chain is selected via the "Chain Select" automation parameter in the clip, yet Ext. Instrument still allows audio to go through!

So no one has a clue? Oh boy

If it's clearly behaviour that seems odd and the manual doesn't explain, post your request directly to Ableton support, at least they have some answers.
