I've been using Live and love it but have been having a showstopping issue.

I use Live to sequence MIDI clips out to two external synths. However I've noticed that sporadically extra MIDI notes will get sent to the synths. These notes are on MIDI channels that have nothing sequenced in Live. The notes are often "Note On" commands that don't send a note end. This results in stray notes playing on my synths that do not end unless I hit the stop button in Live twice (which sends a Note Off comand to every device)

I've done some testing and discovered it's not my two synths as I did a MIDI out from the computer and straight back in so I could view the MIDI notes in MIDI-OX. I discovered that either Live is generating these extra notes, my MIDI adapter (Firewire Tascam Fw-1884) or the MIDI driver on the computer.

This is driving me crazy. Any thoughts?

one thing you could try, since you've installed midi-ox, is to route all your Live midi outputs to midi-yoke ports, and send the midi-yoke ports to your synths.
you'll see if you've still got some extra-notes, and you'll be able to tell if it's Live that sends them from the midi-ox input/output display.

hope that helps. i don't have any external synths, but apparently ppl use them without problems.

Have you got any USB devices?

I do not have this issue. I'm using to synths externally too. Ks-rack and mc909. But it sounds familiar, because i remeber it was mentioned during the beta testing phase.
I use a m-audio fw-410 for midi. And i'm on Osx. Are you on windows? Midi-ox does not sound familiar to me so i supose so.

Another thing i want to ask is if you wonna try something.
Make some midi clips that change banks/sbanks/program on the same channel.
I have an issue that drives me mad. I Can change programs with triggering different clips. But somehow my synths do not recieve the bank/sbank messages unless i stop Live's playback and retrigger.

Yup. Keyboard/Mouse and a Roland MC-909 plugged into the USB port (usally inactive). I also have an hooked iPod cable attached to my Firewire along with my Tascam Fw-1884.
