just picked it up and lookin for feedback from anybody

God I want that setup. Damn you! Yes feedback would be good before I dump some cash on that god send. Mind me asking what you paid for it?

yep. the cpu hit is a little high (some LC patches are nearly 25%), but it's worth it for the sound. i just bounce loops as needed.

They work perfectly for me, no problems, complaints or crashes.. the legacy cell component uses 75% resources though on my 667 powerbook w/512mb ram.. On my dual g5 with 2gb ram they run great, i can play all of the synths at the same time without trouble, usually hovering around 30 percent.. The ms-20 makes a decent controller for effects in live as well..

i love the legacy collection, the ms20 is great as an effect (among other things of course), great gritty filters and good modulation patching just like the original.

the synths are cpu heavy, but they are also very powerful - like reaktor is.
all that power comes at a cost - and it aint in retail price.

moody, unfortunately i paid retail for it, $499, ouch! but, thanks to guitar centers no interest for 12 months, i got plenty of time to pay this puppy off without getting ass raped w/ finance charges.

overall, i am really impressed with this package. three unbelievable synths that can be played on this worthy little ms-20 controller, or any other midi controllers. the raw quality of the filters, oscillators, etc. all with the hands-on feel are unlike anything i've experienced before. my old synth, a yamaha s80 w/ an analog plugin board, has some great sounds, but is totally obnoxious when you have to page through menu after menu to tweek sounds.

I also agree the legacy collection is amazing! the only major downfall is the wavestation. it's not the a/d version. I've emailed them a few times requesting it, but it will probably never happen. I have a wavestation a/d in my studio, but would love to have a software version. oh well. other than that, it's great!

i find the wavestation to be kinda blah. i used one in school but never delved too deeply. am i missing something? care to point out any standout patches, or perhaps songs that use the wavestation in a most flattering light?

i'm re-reading the SOS review to see if it piques my interest...

even the Korg MS-20 is just a cheap copy of the real thing. I have the original and by comparing I must say that especially the filters of the Vsti sound completely different, flat and not as much as interesting and full as the hardware. but here we are, you can´t simulate analog devices 100% on a PC. thats why your electronic music sounds just much better if you also use real analogs or accoustic instruments in your mix. and don´t forget noise in the background!

I have used a lot of analogue synths and stuff and also recorded them,
but personaly i prefer most of the software versions..

I must be one of the only ones who is not excited about these Korg vsti's.
