I'm really loving the APC. Check out this thread to get an idea of how I'm using it:

I've since changed things around a bit, and will most likely change them again... especially when Max for Live comes out.

agreed.

I use my APC40 to control Traktor Pro without a mixer and it works perfectly... and ofcourse it's fantastic for Ableton.

You could spend a bit less and get another controller. But I can guarantee after a while you'll be wishing you'd spent that little extra and got this bad boy.

i like the vcm-600 from vestax. if you're used to mix on a hardware dj-mixer this one comes closest to it.

the best controller for ableton out there today is the APC40...lol...we are all loving it....
you can use it for traktor as well, but it is way to big.....try getting a small one for traktor....(Federfox, Allen & Heath Xone 1D..etc)
i have the CME Bitstream 3X wich i was using before the APC40 for both, traktor and ableton, now only for traktor..... still to big, i am refusing myself to sell it still...lol...
