I just came home from the gym to discover that some one broke into my house and stole my Xbox360 and PS3... they also stole the controllers that were else where which leads me to believe that the thief is someone who has been to my house and has an understanding of where I keep my stuff... what a total bummer, I feel helpless... the cops came, took the serial numbers and told me they would do what they can but not to get my hopes up... At least they did not take my Mac or any of my music equipment (which was in the same room so I am VERY happy about that at least)...

I will say from experience that the cops won't do squat, also from what random cops have told us after the fact. Nobody was killed or injured. We were even told it's going to take them 6-7 months to get finger print analysis from things we know for a fact they touched.

But even before our little incident I had a habit of keeping expensive things behind as many key locked doors as possible, me being one of those things as well.

It all just leaves you with a shitty feeling. Luckily we were able to move into a new place within a week. I don't think we would ever be comfortable there again.

but on the bright side, i recently got rid of all my games and now my music is 10000 times more satisfying and just better sounding all around

too many games = desiring instant satisfaction when you get in the studio

sure you'll miss your games, but remember the feeling that "i wonder what the music i would have made instead of playing games would have sounded like" and you'll feel much better

i dont even remember the last time i played video games since i got rid of my pc and went to mac for music...music production > games imo also, i have more fun in live anyways. That sucks tho id still be pissed if someone broke into my house and took my shit, thank god they didnt take your gear tho...

And for the music versus vids debate. I think they compliment each other well. I love playing an hour of games and getting that tension released, and then going into the studio more relaxed and focused. Coming home from computer related work and going straight to computer studio is rough...
