Hi live people :)

what do you think about these online courses ?
e.g. : http://saeonline.com/course/music-produ ... leton-live

are they usefull? does somebody have already done something like this?

I know, it depends on how much you know about live (and mastering and so on.. ), but as it says it is an beginner course, I think you can gather the information all from here or from other live - pages (if you don't have already), hm?

I'm actually more interested in this course :

http://saeonline.com/course/digital-mastering

but don't want to spent money on something, which doesn't help me become better :)

cheers,

as with everything, i think it depends how hard you work on ot

but all the online live courses i've seen don't offer much more than the manual, the forum and all those other guys that post videos online, free or at a charge.....it is just conveniently packaged for you and in one place. You also get and you do get an SAE certificate or diploma or whatever so i suppose it cannot be that bad...

but remember, this is basic ableton stuff..... you'll probably discover all that by yourself and the manual...

Mastering?

the same principle...

Seems pretty expensive for what you get, and not a real substitute for learning in a fully equipped studio with an expert looking over your shoulder. IMO...

+1...
but it has some advantages...
you get to meet like minded people...make friends...
and know where you stand in comparison to others...
then again..for that price...
you can probly buy all the equipment you need...
and ...a private tutor...

I now run the course on Ableton 101 and the 201 will be available soon.
There is another big thing about learning online which you can't have by reading the manual or watching videos : you have an actual teacher (or Learning Advisor as they're called) to ask your questions to and who will grade your assignments every week, taking time to explain how you can improve your sound and your technique.
