Live 4.1 quitted when using Reason as slave: total ASIO lock

Live 4.1 quitted when using Reason as slave: total ASIO lockup was the result, my RME Hammerfall started producing a 'hanging/sustained' tone. I needed to power my Sony Z1 down to restart.
I am using WIndowsXPsp1 on my Sony Z1 laptop with 1 gB RAM installed, using a RME Hammerfall Multiface.
